Prof. Neil Roberts from University of Edinburgh, UK visits Suining Central Hospital
On the morning of December 8, 2017, Prof. Neil Roberts, Chair of Medical Physics and Imaging Science, University of Edinburgh, UK, came to SCH for an academic visit with the aim of getting to know about the application of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology in Suining Central Hospital (SCH). President Chen Yongjun and Vice President He Jia of SCH had communication and discussion with him during the visit.
Prof. Neil Roberts visited the HIFU Centre at SCH, observed HIFU procedures, and had in-depth communication with the doctors of the centre. In addition, as an expert in magnetic resonance imaging, he also visited the Radiological Department of SCH.
At the colloquium, Prof. Neil Roberts spoke highly of the HIFU technology and environment of SCH, and asked with interest about the reason that SCH established the HIFU Centre and its development and operation at present. President Chen Yongjun extended a warm welcome to Prof. Neil Roberts and answered his questions enthusiastically. Chen Yongjun expressed his wishes to establish more extensive connections with the world-renowned University of Edinburgh through Prof. Neil Roberts' visit, and asked Prof. Neil Roberts to convey his invitation to the related leaders and peers at the University of Edinburgh, who would be welcome to visit SCH for further communication and cooperation.
Prof. Neil Roberts said, the research centres at the University of Edinburgh including Centre for Reproductive Health, Centre for Inflammation Research, Centre for Cardiovascular Science, etc. have long held an international research reputation; he also hoped that the University of Edinburgh could establish friendly cooperative relationship with SCH to share their experience in clinical sciences. Prof. Neil Roberts said, when back to UK, he would convey President Chen Yongjun's invitation to the related leaders of the university in the hope that the two institutions would cooperate with each other in the future.
